Regarding police violence and combats

PRESS RELEASE

Commenting upon a series of facts happened,that of an immigrant’s beating on Friday 20th November at Omonia street Police Station, that of policemen’s violent behavior towards an Armenian woman at Agios Panteleimonas Police Station as well as the last night attacks against immigrants’ shops at Neos Kosmos which caused serious injuries, The Immigration Union of Greece states that renders against any demonstration of violence wherever or whoever comes from.

Actions of violence either are based on racism or occurred as demonstrations of power or take place for any other reason, they cannot help in any way the Greek society to make progress and develop as well as does not promote the peaceful coexistence among people. The only result that violence can cause is more violence and therefore actually inspires feelings of fear and panic.
